AM Connect
A.M. Connect is the most routine networking event the Shawnee Chamber offers! Each unique A.M. Connect has a presenting sponsor. We allow the majority of the time for the speaker to present on what their business or organization does and then we always allow time at the end of each A.M. Connect for round-robin introductions, so we encourage you to join a little early and stay a few minutes later to make more connections.
Chamber 101
Getting the most out of your chamber membership is as easy as knowing what you get by being a member. Every quarter we host a group of newer members to join us for coffee and snacks while we go over all the chamber has to offer. You will hear from the chamber staff about their areas of responsibility and get to know your fellow members. This opportunity is the first step in getting to love your chamber.
Committees
The chamber staff can’t do everything on their own. We have committees for several of our larger tasks, such as signature events. If you want to give of your time, fill out an application.
Governmental Affairs
Starting in October, this committee meets to help develop the Chamber’s annual state legislative platform. The committee also meets four times on Friday afternoons with elected officials during the session, receives legislative news updates throughout the session, and is invited to participate in additional legislative-related activities. If you enjoy working with our elected delegation for the best interest of business and education, this is the committee for you!
HR Roundtable
HR Roundtable is open to HR and management professionals, to discuss what's happening in our fast-paced and ever-changing work environments. This fun 1-hour breakfast will help keep you engaged with others in the field and to share ideas and strategies.
Industrial Alliance
Connecting (quarterly) with like-minded manufacturing and industrial businesses and professionals. Focusing on hot topics like Logistics, Workforce, Human Resources, Supply Line, and much more.
Monthly Luncheons
Several times a year we gather the chamber membership to meet for lunch, get updates on the chamber, and hear from a speaker. These lunches are more than just networking, they are a great opportunity for you to stay connected to the general body and play an active role in the chamber.
Nonprofit Collective
Connecting non-profit professionals quarterly with the opportunity to share ideas, challenges, and success stories.
Shawnee Tomorrow
Shawnee Tomorrow is a community leadership development program with a goal to continuously develop individuals with the willingness, desire and capabilities to assume leadership roles within the community.
Women Inspiring Women
Women in business is near and dear to the heart of the chamber, and we endeavor to support them. Meeting monthly for breakfast, our female members spend time building each other up and networking. Each meeting highlights an issue women face in the workplace. We hear from speakers and also each other to become our best selves.
